Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) for the Screen Industry

Empowering your crew to care for themselves and each other.

  • Evidence-based, accredited MHFA training

  • Tailored for the Australian screen industry

  • Learn how to recognise, respond to, and support mental health challenges

  • Delivered online or in-person by licensed Screen Well instructors

Why MHFA Matters in Screen Work

The screen industry is fast-paced, high-pressure, and often isolating. Long hours, short contracts, and intense environments put crew at higher risk of stress, burnout, and mental ill-health.

Yet most crew don’t know what to say or do when someone is struggling. That’s where MHFA comes in.

Mental Health First Aid is like CPR, for mental health.
It gives your team the tools to support someone in distress, safely and confidently, until professional help is available.

Participant Testimonials

  • "This course is a game changer for employers, producers and frankly as a human. It gives you a frame work, language and tools to be able to understand, identify, and provide basic support for mental health”.

    - Chloe Rickard, Producer, Jungle Entertainment

  • The MHFA course is essential for anybody who manages people and those who want a healthy, sustainable industry for all. Mental health promotion practices are an integral part of my productions now, just like any standard safety process and has helped me establish the open framework and team culture that I want to be a part of”

    - Tsu Shan Chambers, Actor, Writer, Producer, Wise Goat Productions

  • "Screen Well's Mental Health First Aid training was relevant, practical and directly applicable to the screen industry. The opportunity to explore mental health scenarios that might arise during a production was invaluable, and Ben delivered the live component in an engaging, calm and inclusive way. I also loved the practical application of each module to the film industry, and took away a list of ideas that I'll definitely be using on my future projects".

    - Kirsty Stark, Producer, Epic Films
