Creative Workplaces’ role is to support fair, safe and respectful workplaces for artists, arts workers and arts organisations.
They provide information, resources and referral information about pay, safety and respect to help everyone working in creative industries understand their rights and meet their workplace obligations.
The information is for people working across all art forms, independently, as employees and employers, in paid and unpaid work, and in businesses and organisations large and small.

Free Psychosocial
Safety Training
Creative Workplaces, a new part of Creative Australia, is partnering with Screen Well to offer free online training on Psychosocial Safety for the Australian Screen Industry.
This initiative will provide 300 subsidised places for participants from across the Australian screen sector.

Why this course? Why now?
Legislation changes came into effect across most of Australia in 2024, requiring workplaces to actively address psychosocial hazards and risks. This online course has been specifically designed for the screen industry to ensure greater awareness, understanding, and compliance with legislation. By doing so, we will also improve working conditions and mental health outcomes.
Who Is this course for?
This accessible e-learning course is tailored for two main audience groups:
Business Owners and Producers: To understand psychosocial safety and their obligations under the new legislation.
People Managers (including Heads of Department): To learn how to identify and manage psychosocial hazards and risks within their control, and what actions to take.
What will I learn?
In approximately 40-60 minutes, you will gain vital knowledge and practical skills, including:
A clear understanding of the difference between a psychosocial hazard and a psychosocial risk.
Knowledge of the 14 psychosocial hazard types as defined by Safe Work Australia.
The steps you need to take to identify and manage psychosocial hazards and risks in your workplace.
Practical strategies to implement and minimise psychosocial risks within our screen industry.
Upon completion, all participants will receive a completion certificate valid for two years.
