The Screen Well Awards

Recognising the people and productions creating safer, healthier screen workplaces.

The Screen Well Awards celebrate excellence in mental health and wellbeing initiatives within the Australian screen industry. Held biennially, these awards spotlight organisations, productions, and individuals making significant strides in fostering healthier, more supportive environments for screen professionals. The upcoming 2025 awards are currently in the planning stages, with key dates to be announced.

Award Categories

The Screen Well Awards feature three distinct categories:

1. Organisation or Production of the Year - Recognises an organisation or production that has championed wellbeing in the workplace

2. Advocate of the Year - Honours an individual who has shown great dedication to wellbeing in the industry.

3. Innovation or Initiative of the Year - Celebrates an organisation or production that has introduced or applied a new and outstanding wellbeing innovation or initiative.

4. Production of the Year - Honours a production that has demonstrated exceptional commitment to mental health and wellbeing practices on set.

This was a comprehensive report capturing the experiences of people with disabilities working in the Australian screen industry, including several findings that revealed impact to mental health.

Creator of Never Not Creative, and co-chair of Mentally Healthy, Andy’s advocacy and impact has been extraordinary; including biannual mental health research, and establishing minimum standards in the creative media and marketing industries.

Andy Wright | Advocate of the year

A holistic approach towards staff and student wellbeing was provided across the organisation, as well as a high level of reporting and measurement of outcomes.
